we noticed this really neat build the other day. neat because it’s not a square box (lol, we can’t talk with our square concrete bunkers!). so we asked it’s builder and owner to talk to us about it. FireFox Bancroft send us over a notecard and let us flickr his build. it’s really quite original and we <3 it like crazy. thanks FireFox Bancroft for making your fantastic home here, it adds a lot to the estate =)
here’s what he writes about his home:
Well, I built the cave because I’ve always wanted an underground fox den to live in ever since I first joined SL and it took me alot of tries to get one I really liked. I haven’t built anything this large before (and it shows in some spots of my current build) but I built the cave from scratch from the ground up (and below).
I didn’t use any pre-fab cave designs, the only thing that was made for me were the sculpties and, at first, I really didn’t know how I should put them together to make cave-looking structure, so I’ve spent a lot of time just arranging them and fitting them together to see what I could use.
The Cave is 3 stories if you count the underground section ( I do) and it has many rooms and chambers - what have you – all of them living space.
Most of the cave is Cel Edman’s scuplts and quite a few are my own. For the parts of the cave that didn’t have sculpts, I made those myself. Friends and family helped decorate the inside of the cave. Khyra Ares, in particular, helped with the TV room. And Katrice Kivioq helped with some of my lighting needs.
I’m still making improvements to it, my builds are almost never in a full state of completeness, but that’s because they grow and evolve over time and I wouldn’t want to be completely finished with it because the cave would just be boring.
Just recently, I’ve added mega prim sculpts to my build to help trim some of the excessive parts back, this has helped me conserve alot of space for more decorative features.
