ever try to TP and you can’t? (lol, if you said no, then you are never isl)  =D

or ever pay for something and either they never got the money or you never got what you bought?  =(

or xstreet sl won’t come up?

well these are part of the growing pains of second life. Linden Lab is creating something never done before and these issues will keep happening as long as Linden grows. sure there is OpenSim and some small private networks are popping up, but they don’t have the infrastructure that sl has. that’s not to say those other grids are bad. in fact, Reaction Grid is outstanding for business use and educational purposes

so what about these issues isl?

well for really HUGE emergency stuff (usually involving money transactions) you might get that blue notification dealio in the upper right corner of your viewer. but they use that one sparingly so that you don’t ignore it

today xstreet SL was down an hour and with a quick check to the Second Life Grid Status website you can see what is going on

now, “normal” laggy stuff typically is not posted, but sometimes it will help you understand what is going one (like if you can’t log in at all)

you can also follow the @SLGridStatus tweets (we find this very handy  <– uber geeky) and have them sent to your phone =)
